Half of corporate executives say they consider talent over cost when making office location real estate decisions, according to a new survey commercial real estate and investment firm CBRE Group released last week.

More than half said workplace strategy is increasingly being viewed as a critical employee attraction and retention strategy—driven, in part, by a diverse labor force that wants office space to provide functionality and a sense of community.

Due to the rising number of millennials entering the workforce, and predictions less U.S. and European workers may leave it at the traditional retirement age, generational diversity in the workplace is currently posing a number of challenges — and advantages — for companies across the globe.
