If your workplace offers ample parking and most employees commute by car, costs could come out to be less than if they commute to work using public transportation (provided the drive isn’t too long).

Sixty-three percent of U.S. workers who commute by car to work spend less than $25 on gas a week, according to a recent CareerBuilder survey.

Although a significantly smaller amount of workers travel via public transit, nearly half of those who do spend $25 or more a week to commute to work. Fourteen percent spend more than $50.

For more information on commuting costs, what employees spend on office wear and other expenses associated with working, check out CareerBuilder’s survey results.
