Combining work-related trips with private relaxation periods is becoming an increasingly popular practice

More Than a Third of Employees Opt for Bleisure Travel -Talent Intelligence Business travelers appreciate being able to add personal time to trips while traveling for work, according to new research from the University of East London (UEL) that was commissioned by London City Airport.

Over a third (36 percent) of passengers have extended a business trip to engage in leisure activities.

Seventy-eight percent of travelers said being able to take part in bleisure travel — combining business and leisure — increases their well-being when they return to work. Sixty-one percent said bleisure travel contributes to increased productivity.

Enjoying food and drink options, sightseeing, and taking in local culture and history were travelers’ main preferred leisure activities on trips. More than half — 54 percent — were joined by family members or significant others during their bleisure trip.
